How to Clean the Print Head Using the Product Control Panel(MFC-J5330DW)
If faded or streaked colors and text appear on your printouts, some of the print head nozzles may be clogged.
①The most common is having the printer sat idle for over a week. The ink will dry out inside the head, particularly in hot, dry weather.
②Air getting into the print head can also cause problems because it prevents the printer from priming the ink. This can happen when cartridges are changed,
particularly if they’re left out for a period of time.
You can clean the print head using the control panel on your product.
- Load a few sheets of plain paper in the product.
- Press [Settings]

- Select [Maintenance]. You see a screen like this:

4.Select Print Head Cleaning.
This is the easiest way to clean the printer if something seems off. The printer will take a few minutes to clean old ink out of the print head, resulting in a cleaner print.

5.Leave the printer alone while the cleaning cycle is in progress.
The cleaning cycle takes a few minutes and you won’t be able to print anything or select other options on the menu. Don’t unplug the printer while the cycle is running.
. Once the cleaning is done, the printer will automatically go back to the home screen, ready to print.

6.Test print a one–page document. When the cleaning cycle is finished, you can check to see if the nozzles are clean; click Print Nozzle Check Pattern and click Print.

- Check the printedpattern to seeif there are gaps in the lines.
