Printer head cleaning does not work

Printer head cleaning does not work

The tiny holes on the print head always clogged by dust, debris and dried ink, causing white lines or incorrect color when printing. There are commanly three types of print head clogs:

1. Simple Clogs: For example, air blockages in the nozzles, dried ink buildup on the print head, dust buildup inside the printer and so on.These can often be remedied by running a head cleaning cycle and nozzle check on your printer. For the operation method of conventional cleaning nozzles, please refer to another article.
2. Stubborn Clogs: When nozzle check/head cleaning doesn’t work, you may need the Windex Method.

Today we mainly talk about Stubborn Clogs. Please operate with the following steps.

1.Turn your printer on. It will begin to start, when the print heads begin to move long the carriage track, do not turn the printer off, instead unplug the printer. This will keep the print heads loose along the carriage track, you can now move the ink cart carriage freely from side to side.

2. Remove all ink cartridges from the printer. Wrap them in plastic wrap to keep them from drying out while you work.

3. Fold paper towel into quarters lengthwise, and dampen with warm water, specialty or Windex cleaning solvent.

4. Put the damp paper towel on the print track beneath the printhead assembly carriage and move the print heads back and forth over the damp paper towel. You will see ink residue on the paper towel.

5. Place a piece of folded paper towel beneath the print heads again and position them in the middle of the printer.

6.Connect the rubber transfer tube to the tip of the syringe and fill a syringe with a cleaning solution.

7. Connect the other end of the transfer tube to the ink ports located behind the cartridges.

8. Slowly pump cleaning solution through the ink port until your see liquid on the paper towel. Repeat this process for each color cartridge.

9. Reinstall the cartridges and restart the printer. Print a test page. If print head cleaning doesn’t work, repeat the above steps.

Note:
You can submerge the cleaning solvent in a bowl of hot water before cleaning, making it easier to clean your Epson print heads.

If you try each of these steps and they don’t seem to help, remove your print head and soaking a printhead to remove blockages. Use your syringe and tubing to draw the Windex up through the print heads and into the syringe, cover and let soak over night and repeat.
IMPORTANT: Avoid touching any electrical contacts and do not reinstall until they are dry.

If the issue still in, maybe you need to replace the print head or repair your printer. But probably that would cost even more than buying a new printer.

Finally, perhaps the best way to avoid print head clogs is to stop them from happening.
1. Use your Epson printer at least once a week.
2. Run routine printer maintenance once a month.
3. Restart the printer once a week.
